Get out your green!  St. Patrick’s Day is Monday and Spring has sprung just in time for you to pull out all those shades of green. Now is the perfect time for you to try out the trendy, cool mint we talked about not too long ago.

We’re excited about St. Patty’s day at Once ‘n Again, and we want to celebrate by giving you more opportunities to save when you shop with us. Our St. Patrick‘s Day sale offers two days of savings! Check out our Facebook page for more info.

Just like most other small holidays, St. Patrick’s Day has turned into a holiday of fun. Chicago dyes the river green, people dress head to toe in the craziest green outfits, and four leaf clovers are everywhere. The cunning little leprechauns step out of folklore to wander city streets in green costumes and people invoke the luck of the Irish…whether they’re Irish or not.

BUT

Did you know that St. Patrick WASN’T ACTUALLY IRISH?!

That’s right. Good ol’ St. Patty was actually a Brit, not an Irishman! Take a look at this article that explains some of the crazy St. Patrick’s Day Traditions.

Some other fun facts from the article: Corned beef and cabbage is a more American meal than Irish, and Americans transformed the holiday into what it is now - it started out as a religious holiday in Ireland, but Irish Americans used the day to celebrate their heritage.

It’s always interesting to know the random facts behind such fun festivities. And just because St. Patrick wasn’t born in Ireland doesn’t mean we can’t keep celebrating! So pull out your green and stop by Once ‘n Again for some St. Patrick’s Day fun!
